Avoid the rush and chaos this Boxing Day with these tips to keep you on track with your shopping.

One of the biggest shopping days is approaching: Boxing Day. Boxing Day is a Commonwealth shopping day when shops dramatically reduce their prices. Markdowns are everywhere, which makes it very easy to get carried away with your money on Boxing Day and to have a chaotic experience with huge crowds of shoppers.

Here are seven tips to make the most of your shopping trip.


1. Budget

Give yourself a budget and stick to it! Don't get carried away and buy things just because they're on sale. Be realistic with your budget so you don't overspend on things you don't need.  
 

2. Make a List

It's easy to get distracted with all the Boxing Day deals. Make a list of all your needs so you don't forget. Get your list out of the way and then shop for your wants.


3. Look for Online Deals

Some stores increase the original price of a product so that when they put out their discounts, it seems like you're getting a great deal. Research some products' worth so you know you're truly are getting a discount.


7. Be Kind

With all the deals, shoppers can be rude, aggressive and careless with merchandise. Be tidy and respectful when shopping. It's a rough time for sales associates as well. Remember to smile and be friendly at checkout.
