Look No Further! The Perfect Pesto Recipe Is Right Here!

Make the perfect pesto with this recipe!

One of my all time favourite cuisines (besides Indian, of course) is Italian food. The simplicity of its dishes coupled with the insane amount of flavours makes Italian cuisine truly a comfort food for me. We all know that Italian food is known for its basic tomato sauce. Today, however, I would like to share with you one of my favourite sauces — pesto sauce! Super easy and simple to make yet it bursts with the flavours of garlic, basil and pine nuts! It's so very fresh and so very green. Give this one a try and I bet it will become your favourite too!

Spread it on sandwiches, toss it with pasta, or yes, treat yourself to a single happy spoonful, but definitely try pesto at the first chance you get.

It's about the perfect pesto.

2 cups fresh basil leaves
2 small cloves of garlic
3 tablespoons pine nuts, toasted
1 teaspoon grated lemon zest
1 tablespoon lemon juice
½ cup extra virgin olive oil 
¼ cup of freshly grated parmesean cheese
Salt and pepper, to taste


1)  In a food processor add the basil, pine nuts, lemon zest, lemon juice, garlic, and salt and pepper.
2)  Start pulsing everything and slowly add the olive oil.

3)  Once you have everything combined transfer it into a bowl and stir in the freshly grated parmesean cheese. (Note: Add the cheese in at the end and not in the food processor as it will give the sauce a strange taste.)
4)  Mix with your favourite pasta and enjoy. Bon Appetite!
