Monday March 24. 2014 he made the official announcement that a new analysis taken from the British satellite company, Inmarsat indicates that the missing Malaysia Airlines flight  crashed into the Southern Indian Ocean

The news is a major breakthrough in the search to find out what happened to Flight 370, which vanished shortly after take-off from Kuala Lumpur on its way to Beijing carrying 239 passengers plus crew on March 8.

The location of the plane is still unknown but assumed to be at the bottom of the sea. Questions however remain about what actually brought the plane down and why? Malaysian Airlines authorities told families that "none of those on board have survived." The search for the plane's debris goes on , NBC News reporting 1,500 miles southwest of Perth, Australia.

Najib Razak stated the data indicated the plane flew "to a remote location, far from any possible landing sites."
