Burberry launches Prorsum Spring/Summer 2014 with a new South Asian face, Neelam Johal. In the past the U.K. luxury label featured well known supermodels and celebrity brand ambassadors, but this Spring, the campaign is all about fresh-faced young Brits, a national pool that has grown increasingly diverse. As Burberry CEO Christopher Bailey put it, "There’s a distinctly English mood to this season – a gentle, effortless, romantic quality, brought to life by a cast of bright young British talent."

Following in the footsteps of the likes of Lakshmi Menon and Ujjwala Raut, meet Neelam Johal, Burberry’s first Indian model from Coventry, England. Strutting the catwalk during London Fashion Week for Burberry spring/summer ’14, the 18-year-old has turned into an overnight star, a major accomplishment for a new model.

When she isn’t modeling, the rap-music lover and bookworm is pursuing a degree in psychology. Johal joined the Burberry team with other new talent, Mathilda Lowther and Jean Campbell seen in the trench shoot by photographer, Mario Testino. (famous for being on retainer with the royal family)

Johal’s own cyber journalism gave us an inside scoop to her experience behind the scenes at Burberry’s spring/summer show, but the reality is that  with many influential fashion publications showing marked interest in her this year, Johal’s potential for 2014 seems limitless.
