The Best & Worst Dressed At The 2016 Oscars

Anokhi DIY Anokhi Today Breaking News & Sports World Feb 29, 2016

Hollywood's biggest red carpet affair brings gorgeous gowns, exquisite jewellery and unparalleled glamour.

Let's be honest. Everyone is more excited about the red carpet than the actual award ceremonies. We rounded up the best-dressed and the worst-dressed of the night!

BEST-DRESSED

Priyanka Chopra

The Bollywood-turned-Hollywood starlet had her best red carpet appearance to date. She stunned in a white see-through Zuhair Murad gown.

Saoirse Ronan

Calvin Klein has been a favourite of mine this award season, and this emerald-green, deep-V and plunging-back sequin dress is no exception.

Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga has come a long way from her quirky costume-esque red carpet appearances. She nails it with this custom jumpsuit-meets-gown piece by dear friend and stylist Brandon Maxwell.

Eddie Redmayne

I'm a sucker for velvet tuxedos. Eddie Redmayne is looking very dapper in this Alexander McQueen velvet tux with a satin lapel.

Chrissy Teigen

In addition to relationship goals, you can add pregnancy goals to the list of all things Chrissy Teigen. This gorgeous mama-to-be is breathtaking in a Marchesa dress, which — rumour has it — was sewn onto her moments before the show.

Charlize Theron

Charlize Theron never fails on the red carpet. She looks gorgeous as ever in this Dior Haute Couture dress, but the Devil is truly in the detail. The Harry Winston plunging diamond necklace seals the deal.

Pharrell Williams

It's hard to stand out in a crowd in a tuxedo, but leave it to Pharrell Williams to take the classic tuxedo to another level with cropped pants and patent leather loafers.

Dorith Mous

Model Dorith Mous pulls off Gothic-chic in an ethereal way.

WORST-DRESSED

Heidi Klum

I think Heidi Klum mistook the Oscars for her annual Halloween party. Not sure if this Marchesa dress is supposed to be a costume or a nightgown.

Kate Winslet

Move over, Paper Bag Princess! Garbage Bag Princess is in town. What were her stylist and Ralph Lauren thinking?

Kerry Washington

This Versace dress isn't doing anything for this beauty. The neckline is unflattering and the ensemble looks straight out of a bad Matrix sequel.

Amy Poehler

Amy Poehler is being engulfed by this Andrew GN dress. Neither the silhouette nor the embroidery design do anything for her or me.

Kevin Hart

I liked the concept, but Kevin Heart's Dolce & Gabanna tuxedo failed in its execution. The black crystals trimming the tuxedo blazer are so big that they just look plain tacky. Just one detail can take you from best- to worst-dressed. Had D&B opted for smaller beaded crystals lining the trim, Kevin Hart would've nailed this look.

Sandy Powell

Oscar nominee for Best Costume Designer, Sandy Powell did a great job paying tribute to the late David Bowie — but she failed to impress even the easiest of critics on the red carpet.

Whoopi Goldberg

Lucky for Whoopi, everyone's focused on her being mistaken for Oprah by an ignorant online fashion magazine. She'll hopefully be able to live this epic disaster down.

Emily Blunt

Emily Blunt should take cues from Chrissy Teigen on how to dress for the red carpet while pregnant. This Prada dress gave her no shape, and the crystal embellishments were poorly placed, giving the appearance that this dress was made by an amateur.
